CHINATOWN Neighborhood Photo Essay

The neighborhood Chinatown is located in downtown Boston, Massachusetts. It is the habitat of a large population of Asians and Asian-Americans and there is an abundance of Chinese and Vietnamese restaurants located in the area.

I chose this neighborhood because I was immediately drawn to the colorful scenery, as well as immerse and educate myself in the culture and thoroughly explore and document the culture and way of life of the people living in it.

The ‘paifang’ or Chinatown Gate is a dignified structure on the streets of Chinatown. The Chinese characters on this side of the gate give the meaning ‘A World Shared By All’. Photo taken on 06/19/19.
